Cars Well Loved

Cohen has loved and loved and loved and....LOVED these slippers.
Toes are about to be seen... but they are still being worn...

Row & Paddle Day 4

Ever the Engineer

Ethan is a little engineer.  He's always building things-
wether it be physically or a mathematical sketch.
He has a mind for how things work and numbers.
Today he's been building and knocking down
structures he makes with dominoes =)

Just Ducky

I don't have a "minute to myself" very often but I found one!
I happened to be down by the river waiting for a photo session to start
and had a few minutes to myself.  At least... myself and these geese... so beautiful!

Row & Paddle Day 3

This was the highlight of Day 3 of Row and Paddle Club.  Danissa loved this!
I think it looks a little intimidating but this girl is gaining some confidence!

Dove

Ethan was in the shower and was out of soap.  I had him a freshly opened bar, to which he responds "Thanks! Is it Dove?"... I replied "No. How do you even know what Dove is?!", to which he said "It's the type of soap that doesn't rip off your skin!"
Score 1 point for Dove Commercials.

Row & Paddle Camp

Danissa is in the second day of Row & Paddle camp here in Wenatchee.
They started the first day yesterday, going over water safety and then took large canoes down river
and back to Confluence Park.
Today they did the Jr. Kayak portion in the Walla Walla Lagoon.
The instructor told me that Danissa was initially shy and tentative but after
awhile she warmed up and was soon racing around the lagoon.
She seems to be coming out of her shell more each day.
Danissa's friend and classmate, Jenna, is in the class with her, as well.
At the end of class, they let Chezney jump in with her sis to paddle around a little bit
in the more shallow waters.  I think this may become a family activity!
Tomorrow: The Rowing Shell!

Double Trouble

Chezney got a box of makeup from a neighbors yard sale.  This was the result.
That box is now residing in my garbage can... hence chezneys sad face ;)
And a time not too long ago that Chezney and Philomena did the same thing...

Look Mom!

I woke up snuggling with Danissa in Cohens twin size bed.  In my grogginess I woke to the sound of Cohen saying "Look mom! A mouse!" In the days leading up to this, the kids had been playing with a mouse puppet so imagine my horror when I open my eyes to see a real dead mouse dangling by it's tail right in front of my face. Thank you son for the lovely morning.

Impromptu Sleepover

Dad went to Vietnam and mom was lonely so we packed up the kids and grabbed some yummy sugary snacks and crashed moms house for a sleep over.  We stayed up late play Shang-hi and spent all the next day swimming, picking strawberries, and playing a couple more games of Shang-hi.  Such a great way to spend a weekend!

Motorcycling with Daddy

The kids all love having their turns with daddy on the motorcycle.
When Ethan gets "Dad Dates" the motorcycle is always part of it!

Crazy Day!

The kids wanted to see who could dress the worst.  Without saying a word,
they ran to each others closets and dressed up
as one another.

Tooth Fairy $

Chezney had a hole being burned in her pocket by her tooth fairy money so we
took a little mommy/daughter walk down to 7-11 for her to buy her treats.
She ended up with a slurpee and bought a sucker for herself and her siblings.
Sweet girl!
A note from the tooth fairy:

Quincy 3-on-3

Chezney also happened to lose her first tooth right in front
of the first aid booth at the tourney.  She wasn't sure how she felt about that
strange hole in her mouth but she eventually thought it was pretty funny!

A Little Tied Up...

When riding a bike in a skirt, there are several risk factors that come to mind.  However, I felt I could handle myself despite common sense trying to talk me out of the idea. Soon I found myself caught up in the back tire.  The more I struggled to get the skirt out, the worse it was stuck.  Soon my skirt was so far gone that it was actually falling down by it's overly-giving elastic waist and threatening to expose me.
So what's a girl to do?! With the bike still between my legs, I picked it up and walked over to a nearby bench.  I then got wiggled and maneuvered until I was able to get my leg over the bike and sit down on the bench with my skirt still in the bike.  Then was the wait of shame as I had my daughter run home to get a pair of scissors to cut me free.
The bike is still wearing pieces of my skirt...

Kindergarten Graduation

My babies have graduated kindergarten!

Cohen with Mrs. Snyder and Ms. Sterk
He was blessed by these amazing teachers!

This is Chezney with her little kinder-friends. On the left is Ashley- a little
peanut that doesn't say much. She's super sweet.
On the right is Philomena.  She's a spunky nut and the girls are just
crazy when they are together!

3rd Grade Field Trip

The 3rd graders wrapped up the school year by visiting Penfold Farms, a local
farming family up on Birch Mountain.  They were so great with the kids, making up a scavenger hunt,
gunny sack races, and tug of war with a large rope.

Looking down into the farm well...

They also had this amazing barn with a swing that had all the kids interest.
The kids took turns on the swing and climbed up into the hay loft.
They also got to see how you shoe a horse and go on a wagon ride.

Family Walks

We've been doing a lot of little excursions lately.  Hydro Park and Blackbird Island are favorites.  Probably because they are less crowded and shaded with great overgrowth and cool
streams/rivers nearby.  We love this time of year!
Feeding the ground hogs =)

Picnic

The twins had a picnic and field day on the last monday of the school year.
The BBQ portion of the day was open for families to attend so I got to go
enjoy sitting in the sun and having a picnic with them!
